AARP TAX HELP INFORMATION
Free Tax Help from the AARP Foundation’s Tax-Aide Program at the Middletown Library!
Tax-Aide provides free tax preparation help to people with low to moderate incomes from February 1 to April 15. In fact, Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service in the United States — giving special attention to people over age 60.
Tax sign-ups will start on January 27th and the appointments will begin on February 3rd through April 15th. Please call 732-671-3700 ext. 327 to schedule an appointment. Scheduling hours are Monday-Friday 10am – 3pm. No appointments can be made in person or online.
PLEASE NOTE that volunteers have the option of asking you to come back for another session to finish your tax return if your return is taking too long and there a lot of other people waiting. Furthermore, as this free tax service is intended for people with low to moderate incomes, we reserve the option to decline to provide this service to anyone with income exceeding $100,000 during peak periods. We must do this out of fairness, to insure that all our lower-income clients are able to get appointments.
Appointments will take place on February 3rd-April 15th as follows:
- Mondays: 9am-1pm, 6pm-9pm
- Tuesdays: 9am-9pm
- Wednesdays: 9am-5pm
Please call the Reference Desk for information about additional tax centers at 732-671-3700 ext. 320 or ext 321.
