Request a Print

Requesting a 3D Print

Have a 3D model you’d like printed? Submit it through our simple 3D Print Request Form, and we’ll review your file and request details.

How It Works

Before requesting your 3D print, please read our 3D printing policy here.

First, find the 3D model you’d like to have printed. You can create your own model using 3D modeling software like TinkerCAD, or download one from a 3D model website such as Thingiverse, Printables, MakerWorld, or another source.

Make sure the model is something you have permission to print and use.

Once you find a model you like, download the 3D print file to your device. STL files are commonly used for 3D printing.

If the website provides multiple files, make sure you download the correct version of the model you want printed.

After downloading your file, complete our 3D Print Request Form.

Be as specific as possible so we can understand exactly what you’d like printed.

After you submit the form, we’ll review your model and request. We’ll check the file to make sure it follows our 3D printing policy and guide and determine any details that may affect the print.

If we need additional information, we’ll contact you.

Your print will be added to our queue. 3D prints will be printed in the order in which they are received.Unfortunately, due to print times and possible printing errors, we cannot give an estimate as to when your print will be completed.

Once your print has been completed, it can be picked up in the Makerspace during the library’s open hours. The Makerspace accepts cash or check payments for prints.

Prints may run into errors causing longer wait times. Please take that into account when submitting time sensitive prints. The Makerspace cannot guarantee print delivery by a specific date or give an estimate as to when printing may be completed.

If you are submitting a time sensitive print, please submit your prints at least 2 weeks in advance. We cannot guarantee print completion by a certain date but submit your request as early as possible to ensure your print is completed on time and any errors in printing can be fixed.

The Makerspace will not edit or alter the print design structure. Patrons are responsible for making any edits to their prints prior to submitting your request.

The Makerspace will print your request at the default size of the file submitted. If you need to adjust the size of your 3D print, please note that in the request form.

If your print will exceed $5, we will confirm pricing with you before printing.

Finished prints are held for 2 weeks from notification. Prints not picked up within 2 weeks will be discarded or become the property of the library. If a patron has not picked up 2 prints, they may lose 3D printing request privileges.
