Notaries are called upon to perform many valuable services for New Jersey’s business, legal and financial communities. Effective notary services help to ensure that documents are properly executed, that facts are duly certified, and above all, that the general public is protected from fraud. Notarization is essential for many official documents including mortgages, deeds, contracts, and various corporate transactions.
A Notary Public is a public officer who serves as an impartial witness to the signing of documents and to the acknowledgment of signatures on documents. A person needing a Notary Public must be present when signing the document with a photo ID. The Township Notary Public’s are not authorized to administer oaths and affirmations.
Please ask or call the Reference Desk (732-671-3700 ext. 320) in advance for notary service. We reserve the right to refuse notarization. Fees must be paid at the time of service. If your document requires additional witnesses, you must provide your own and ensure they are present at the time of service.
Fees: $2.50 fee per notary signature.
