Museum Passes at Middletown Public Library

Check out a museum pass just like you would a book to visit area museums & gardens providing opportunities for learning, leisure, cultural enrichment & fun. Patrons are responsible for checking the museum’s website for the most current hours and information. Go here for a list of free museums in NJ that don’t require passes.

List of Museums & Park Passes:

Battleship New Jersey, Camden, NJ: Each pass admits two adults and three children. 

The Frick Collection, NYC: Museum closed for renovations. Please see https://www.frick.org/ for further updates and other resources.

Guggenheim Museum, NYC: Each pass admits four adults & children under 12. Pass has reciprocal privileges at other museums. Check museum website for details.

Monmouth Museum, Lincroft, NJ: One pass admits two adults and two children.

Morven Museum & Garden, Princeton, NJ: One pass admits four guests, children under 6 are free. 

Museum of Modern Art, NYC: Each pass admits five adults, children 16 and under are free. 

NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum, Cape May Airport, NJ: Each pass admits two adults and six children.

NJ State Parks: Pass permits free parking (admits 1 car) to the bearer visiting state parks/forests. *Pass is valid until 9/3/2024. Island Beach will need pass after 9/3/2024.

Popcorn Park Animal Refuge, Forked River, NJ: Each pass permits two adults and four children (under age twelve). 

U.S.S. Intrepid, NYC: Each pass admits two adults and two children. Must show MTPL library card.

Wheaton Arts & Cultural Center, Millville, NJ: Each pass admits two adults, all children under the age of 18 in the household are free. 

Discounted Museum & Park Tickets- ALL TICKETS MUST BE PAID FOR WITH CASH OR CHECKS AT THE CIRCULATION DESK.

American Museum of Natural History, NYC: Single-use tickets are available at the cost of $10 each (our cost). Each ticket is also good for admission to your choice of:  one special exhibition, IMAX film or Planetarium show. All purchases are final. Five ticket maximum. Tickets from the museum are normally priced approximately at $25 for adults & $14 for kids.

Jenkinson’s Aquarium, Point Pleasant, NJ: Single-use tickets are available at the cost of $7.50 each (our cost). Cash or check only. All purchases are final. Five ticket maximum. Ages 2 and under are FREE. Tickets from the aquarium are normally priced approximately at $18 for adults, $13 for seniors (65&up) and $12 for kids (ages 3-11).

MUSEUM PASSES FAQ

Who can check out a museum pass?

Middletown Public Library cardholders (adults only), in good standing, are eligible to check out one museum pass at a time.

Where can I pick up a museum pass?

Museum passes must be picked up & returned only at the Circulation Desk.

Can I reserve a museum pass for pick-up?

No. Passes are on a first come, first served basis. The passes cannot be renewed or placed on hold.

Where can I return a museum pass?

Museum passes must be returned to the Library Circulation desk. Please hand the plastic case directly to a staff member & be sure that the museum pass is returned with the case. If returned in the book drop, a $10 fee will be added to your account.

How long can I keep a museum pass?

Passes may be checked out for 3 days except for those that are single use passes such as the American Museum of Natural History and Jenkinson’s Aquarium.

What if I don’t return the pass on time?

A late fee of $5/day will apply with a maximum late fine of $50. After 10 days late, the full replacement cost of the pass will be charged to patron’s account. There will be a $5 fee for lost/damaged case and/or lanyard. Replacement fee for each museum pass varies, depending on the museum.
