Middletown Township: Our Town During the COVID-19 Pandemic

A Middletown Public Library Local History Archive Initiative

Dear MTPL Patrons,

We are currently living in the middle of a terrible pandemic, the likes of which we have never before experienced in our lifetimes. Our entire lifestyle has changed in a few short months and our emotions are raw. Libraries serve our communities in diverse ways, one of which is to collect and preserve the experiences of our citizens in times such as these for future generations.

To document this moment in time, we are asking for your help in submitting any creative endeavors which you might have undertaken to ease your mind during the COVID-19 pandemic. Perhaps you have written a story, poem or song or created a work of art to express your emotions. You might have taken photographs or filmed a video. Your thoughts matter to us and will to future generations.

These collective creative works will be a time capsule of Middletown Township, NJ in the year 2020 and will be preserved on our Local History Archive for viewing at a later time on our website (https://www.mtpl.org/digital-archive/) and on our homepage.

Please submit entries to: https://forms.gle/uUfBuzsTyjgvB2uf9

Thanks in advance for your assistance on this historical project!

We want to thank Leonia Public Library as well for their idea for this Historical Archive Initiative.

Sincerely,
Middletown Public Library Staff
