Supervisor: Eileen McGrath, Supervising Library Assistant/Head of Circulation
Rate of Pay: Minimum Wage ($8.38)
Hours: 20 hours per week (approximate)
Includes: -Day Shift (Monday or Tuesday)
-Evenings 5-9 - Wednesday, Thursday
-Saturday & Sunday rotations
Responsible for accurately shelving several library formats and subject areas of the Library, plus performing general support work in the Circulation Department.
Puts carts in order; shelves books, audio and video materials, periodicals. Edges and dusts shelves. Shelf-reads. Returns books, materials, and equipment to correct location. Organizes library materials for convenient access.
Training and supervision provided. Must be 16 years of age or older.
Must follow direction well, and be able to alphabetize and put items in numerical order. Must have the ability to concentrate and pay attention to details. General knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System is a plus.
Ability to lift books and push book carts, bending required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of books when needed. Expected to be able to work independently after being instructed.
